Sanity Check helps you review job descriptions against your own skills, preferences, and boundaries before you apply.

Highlight a job description on any website, click the extension icon, and instantly see:

• Match indicators based on the skills and phrases you want to find
• Mismatch indicators based on things you'd rather avoid
• Flagged wording that may deserve a closer look
• Plain-language explanations of potentially concerning phrases
• Gentle reminders about common hiring pressure tactics

Private by design

Everything runs entirely on your device.

• No accounts
• No cloud services
• No tracking
• No analytics
• No external APIs

The extension only analyzes text you explicitly select.

How it works

1. Open a job listing.
2. Highlight the description and requirements.
3. Click the Sanity Check toolbar icon.
4. Review the results.

If text selection doesn't work on a particular site, a built-in paste box is available as a fallback.

Make it your own

Customize three lists:

• Want
• Don't Want
• Danger Phrases

Export your settings, import them later, reset to defaults, or delete everything at any time.

The defaults are only a starting point.

You are the dictionary.

Current Version

Version 0.1 uses fast, transparent phrase matching with zero dependencies.

Future versions may add fully local semantic matching to identify similar wording that wasn't explicitly listed, while keeping all processing on-device.
